Privacy Policy for GeoCardly

Last updated: January 03, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how GeoCard LLC (“GeoCardly”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our mobile application (the “App”).

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

1. Who We Are

For the purposes of data protection laws (including the EU/EEA/UK General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”)), the data controller responsible for your personal data is:

GeoCard LLC
Email: support@geocard.info

If you are based in the EU/EEA or UK, you may also have the right to contact your local data protection authority.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information when you use the App.

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Account information
When you create an account or sign in (including Sign in with Apple), we may collect information such as your email address, an anonymized identifier from the sign‑in provider, and any profile information you choose to provide.

  • Card information you add
To provide card recommendation features, you can tell us which payment cards you own.
We store this information as internal card type identifiers (for example, to indicate that you have a specific card product), but not full card numbers, CVV codes, or other highly sensitive payment credentials.

  • Saved places and preferences
When you save places, add notes, or change settings, this information is stored in our backend systems (for example, in our database).

  • Crash report and diagnostics
We may collect crash logs and diagnostic information (such as device model, operating system version, app version, and the time of a crash) to troubleshoot problems, improve stability, and protect the security of the App. This information may be collected by us and/or by service providers that help us with crash reporting and performance monitoring.

2.2 Location Information

With your permission, we collect and process geolocation data from your device to provide location‑based features such as suggesting the best card to use at your current place. If you enable motion sensor permissions, we may also access motion‑related sensor data as needed for related features.

  • Location data is obtained using your device’s location services.

  • We may send location or place‑related data to Apple or Google (via Google APIs) for maps, place lookup, or geocoding functionality.

You can control location and motion sensor permissions in your device settings. If you disable location access, some features of the App may not work properly.

2.3 Usage and Analytics Data

We use Firebase for analytics, which may collect:

  • The screens and features you use

  • Time and frequency of your sessions

  • Basic device information (such as device model, operating system version, language, approximate location)

  • Anonymous identifiers (such as Firebase installation IDs)

This helps us understand how the App is used and improves performance and user experience.

2.4 Purchase and Paywall Data

We use a third-party service to present paywalls and manage subscription-related events. This service may collect device identifiers, paywall interactions, and events related to subscription purchases. We do not receive your full payment card information.

2.5 Information from Third‑Party Card Recommendation Services

To estimate which of your cards may provide the best rewards or benefits at a given merchant, we may use third‑party card recommendation or rewards services.

To do this, we may send:

  • Non‑identifying merchant context (such as merchant name or merchant category), and

  • Information about the cards you tell us you own, in the form of internal card type identifiers (but not card numbers or CVV codes).

Since we do not collect or store your full card numbers, CVV codes, or other highly sensitive card details, we do not send them to any third-party services.

3. How We Use Your Information (Purposes and Legal Bases)

We use your information for the purposes described below.

3.1 Purposes

We use the information we collect to:

    • Authenticate you and manage your account

    • Store your card selections, custom places, and preferences

    • Provide maps, location‑based features, and card recommendations

  • Calculate card recommendations

    • Use your saved card information (internal card type identifiers) and merchant context (such as merchant name or category) with third‑party services to estimate which card may be best to use in a given situation

  • Analyze and improve the App

    • Use third-party analytics services to understand usage trends, fix bugs, and improve features and performance

  • Communicate with you

    • Send you necessary service‑related communications, such as security alerts and updates to this Privacy Policy or our Terms

  • Protect our rights and comply with the law

    • Prevent misuse or abuse of the App

    • Respond to legal requests and comply with applicable laws

    • Enforce our agreements and protect our rights

3.2 Legal Bases (EU/EEA/UK users)

If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, we process your personal data under one or more of the following legal bases:

  • Consent – for example, when you allow location services or certain analytics/tracking where consent is required.

  • Performance of a contract – to provide the App and the features you request (such as creating an account, storing your places, or providing card recommendations).

  • Legitimate interests – to analyze and improve the App, maintain security, and prevent abuse, where these interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms.

  • Legal obligations – when we need to process data to comply with applicable laws.

You can withdraw your consent at any time (for example, by changing permissions in your device settings or contacting us), but this will not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share your information with:

4.1 Service Providers

We work with third‑party service providers that process data on our behalf, such as:

  • Cloud hosting, database, and authentication providers

    • For user authentication and storing account data, saved places, and other App data

  • Analytics providers (for example, Google Firebase)

    • To collect usage statistics and help us improve the App

  • Paywall and subscription providers

    • To display paywalls and manage access to paid features

  • Third‑party card recommendation or rewards services

    • To determine which of your cards may give you the best rewards or benefits at a given merchant, based on merchant context and internal card type identifiers (but not card numbers or CVV codes)

These providers may only process your personal data in accordance with our instructions and applicable data protection laws.

4.2 Legal and Safety

We may disclose your information if we believe in good faith that such action is necessary to:

  • Comply with a legal obligation, regulation, or court order

  • Protect and defend our rights or property

  • Prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the App

  • Protect the personal safety of users or the public

4.3 Business Transfers

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will inform you of any such change if required by law.

5. International Data Transfers

Some of our service providers operate in other countries. When your information is processed outside your region, we take the steps required by applicable laws (such as GDPR) to ensure it remains protected, including using approved transfer mechanisms and contractual safeguards.

Where required by law (for example, for EU/EEA/UK users), we implement appropriate safeguards for international transfers, such as standard contractual clauses or other lawful transfer mechanisms.

6. Data Retention

We keep your personal data only for as long as necessary to:

  • Provide the App and its features

  • Comply with our legal obligations

  • Resolve disputes

  • Enforce our agreements

When we no longer need your personal data, we will delete it. Some data may remain in secure backups for a limited period before it is permanently deleted.

7. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your personal data against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure, or access.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Payments and subscriptions (Apple App Store)

Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through the Apple App Store’s in‑app purchase system. Apple processes payment and purchase information in accordance with Apple’s own policies. We do not receive your full payment card details. We may receive limited purchase or entitlement information (such as subscription status) to provide access to paid features.

You also have choices such as:

  • Location settings – you can enable or disable location or motion sensor permissions in your device settings.
